Have you been curious about who’s behind the scenes at Everett Custom Homes? There are so many pieces that make up our company and it couldn’t be possible without all the amazing people that work hard every day to bring our beautifully-crafted homes to Portland neighborhoods…..whether it be those looking to make Portland their new home or those who have been here for years.
We don’t mean to toot our own horn (well, maybe a little bit), but we wanted to share with you some of our passionate team members, committed to building a home that will last for lifetimes to come within our wonderful City of Roses. Another person that we are excited to share with you is Kristan Kramer, Realtor and Marketing Coordinator for Everett Custom Homes! With a long history in sales, she is very passionate about Portland real estate.
How long have you worked at Everett Custom Homes?
2 years
What made you interested in working at Everett Custom Homes?
Having worked for the family and owners of Everett when I began my real estate career 10 years ago, I jumped at the opportunity to work with them again. I love the thoughtfulness in design of an Everett home, how the homes fit within the neighborhoods, along with the overall excitement and passion this company exudes.
Compared to other businesses you’ve worked at, what makes Everett different?
The company and owners really have a vested interest in our communities, a passion that I haven’t seen at other companies. Each and every person involved in Everett Custom Homes has a true passion for Portland homebuilding. From construction to sales to customer service, every person goes above and beyond to ensure our homes are perfect for our new homeowners. Everett listens to the needs of clients and feedback from the public, which is a special characteristic that I hold in high-regard.
What are you most looking forward to in 2016 for Everett?
I’m so excited about new home designs and especially excited for the unveiling of our new modern home collection! I love having an array of housing options to provide our clients. We’re also expanding to provide attached homes and condos to meet a broader range of clients in search of a new home.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I’m addicted to spin classes and enjoy being active. Stand-up paddle boarding, snowboarding, traveling, sporting events, golf, running, and spending time with family and friends are just a few things I enjoy. I’m always on the go and love seeking out new adventures!
Are you a Portland native? If so, where in PDX did you grow up? If not, what brought you here and what do you think of the city?
I am born and raised in Portland, but grew up on the East Side of town in Gresham. Portland is such a great city, that I’ve been hooked since birth.
Where do you live in Portland?
I lived in NE Portland for quite some time and more recently in N Portland.
Describe your perfect Portland Day…
Where to even begin….if I could squeeze it all into a single day, I’d paddleboard along the Columbia River, hop over to Luca on NE Fremont St for a delicious lunch, maybe a little retail therapy on NW 23rd, get a spin class in at Starcycle, then finish up with some vino with friends at Cyril’s at Clay Pigeon in SE. There are so many fun things to do in Portland, but I don’t have enough room on this to list it all!
What do you love most about the city?
What I love most about Portland is how central it is to everything Oregon has to offer…..Mt Hood and the coast are just 2 short hours from town, with plenty of fun places nearby! There’s always something to do…sporting events, street fairs like First Thursday in the Pearl, delicious eats and drinks at every turn, parks, bike paths, running trails, concerts, shopping, the list goes on! No wonder us Portlanders want to keep this city all to ourselves….but I’m happy to share it with everyone! It’s a great place to call home.
Share your favorite Portland neighborhood, and why.
There are so many Portland neighborhoods, all with their unique niche characteristics. I love the Beaumont-Wilshire and Alameda neighborhoods equally because it’s a great location with such a beautiful mix of homes that are both smaller and larger. Alameda Street is my absolute favorite, as you get amazing city views and beautifully-unique homes, rich in Portland history. Fremont Street offers a great mix of shopping, delicious eats, and my personal favorite, Blackbird Wine Shop (which has tasty salads and yummy cheese plates).
What tips do you have for those looking for a new home?
Spend as much time as you can within the neighborhoods you’re most interested. Get to know the surroundings and chat with neighbors. This will be the neighborhood you’ll spend most of your time in, so you want to make sure you love it. Everything else will fall into place. And of course, I hope you’ll consider an Everett Custom Home!
