PORTLAND, Ore. – September 9, 2016 – For the second year in a row, Everett Custom Homes has won the Earth Advantage Green Volume Builder of the Year Award. Everett was also recognized with an additional award for certifying the most Earth Advantage Platinum homes in 2016, representing the highest level of sustainability. Throughout their review, the judge panel was especially impressed by the energy efficiency, sustainable features and water conservation measures incorporated into each Everett home. In addition to creating architecturally beautiful homes with desirable floor plans, Everett homes average 30% more efficient than Oregon’s rigorous energy code.
“For five years Earth Advantage has recognized the true leaders in the building industry with our annual awards ceremony. Each builder sets an example for what is possible today whether you build one house a year or hundreds. As one of these recognized leaders, Everett Custom Homes is consistently demonstrating that better, more sustainable building is not only possible – it is already here,” said Peter Brown, Director of Building Certifications at Earth Advantage.
The fifth annual Earth Advantage Green Home Builder of the Year Awards recognized exemplar builders and developers who work with Earth Advantage to advance building in the Northwest. Earth Advantage works with a spectrum of builders who certify to the Earth Advantage standard, as well as ENERGY STAR®, LEED® for Homes, and Passive House. Builder applications for the awards were for homes and multi-family buildings built from July 2015 to June 2016. The winners were determined by an independent panel of three judges, each from the green building and energy efficiency industry.
